Pleasuredome, Skegness
Poxy drive – well worth it. Friendly
doorstaff, with NASA, cashiers – NASA, people –
NASA, police – OK – let Mr Finn off with a
speeding fine – Nice one Micky, lucky chappie!
The posse I went up with included Kerry-Ann –
(or Kez to her friends) everybody! Aimee (mad
co-ordinator in Lincoln for Oracle) and Mel (mad
woman with nice bum!).
We also met loads of faces from other clubs –
happy types of course and this club is on the
happy vibe too, that’s another one to add to our
ever growing list of ‘happy hardcore clubs’
maybe I’ll to a list for you next time. However
I digress, on with the review.
MC Magic was on when we got there, he knows how
to buzz the crowd, MC Peter Pan and Natz were
there too – Happy Buzz MC’s are the order of the
day here, as are the jocks that are picked to
play, these must fit in with what Gary and Bogey
(organiser and NASA type persons) wants. So the
line ups he chooses fits in with what he knows
his friends want. Yes, he treats everyone as a
friend, he’s approachable and mixes with them
throughout the night.
The main room is the happy hardcore room, along
the maze of corridors lies the ‘House’ room.
Both rooms were quite full and the place was
hot, but kept comfortable by keeping the back
door open (which leads out to the fun fair).
More about the fair later, wait for it.
Anyway, from what I saw both rooms were heaving
with people of all ages, all happy and obviously
enjoying themselves and they were up for it and
doing it. Lots of handshakes, smiles and
respects given to me by so many people, it would
take me all day to write them, so thanks for
them and respects back to you – each and
everyone of you who were there, nice to be at
another attitude free club.
Lots of people on the same happy vibe, with
happy uplifting music, makes for a happy club,
you’ve got one there, keep that faith, you are
the ones that keep the vibe alive, and with the
other clubs and events I’ve reviewed, the
happier most attitude free ones are the ones
with the same policy. I think and feel.
You can’t please all the people all of the time,
but you can please some of the people some of
the time and as long as it’s uplifting and
happy, even if you don’t love it as much as you
own type of house, you will listen, dance, feel
and enjoy.
This has got to be good because it educates you
to the very wide band that is House music, who
needs names, labels or tags. Happy uplifting
does the biz and creates the happy vibes, it
doesn’t matter what it is open your mind.
The Adrenaline big boys, Big Jim and Will, along
with that ever ready Murray from Dreamscape also
came up to show respects as the news travels
fast of good venues, so they visit and check it
out. As I mentioned before and yes I nearly did
forget they’ve got a fun fair, remember those,
big wheels, waltzers or something like that,
Octopus I think and bumper cars and all that
stuff, that really does f**k you up!
They go round, upside down, things fast – then
off you come and say, wow that was great –
you’re kidding eh?
Anyway I’ve had my tries and enjoyed it – like
old type outdoor events, it was brill. Nice and
cool outside too, mind you inside there are
ample chilling areas, nice seating and tables
all around the place. Gary and Bogey have plans
to expand, but he will reveal their plans when
all is sorted out. But for me, I’ve got to say,
“For what you are doing and what you plan to do
in the future Gary, BIG MASSIVE respects”.
DJ’s on the night that kept the crowd-a-buzzing
were (main room) Micky Finn, Clarkee, Swanee,
Fergus, Rush. MC’s Magika, Peter Pan and Natz.
(House room) Chinney, James Arthur and Bogey.
Good quality sound in both rooms, X amount of
lights, lasers, strobes etc and smoke. Safe
club. Safe vibe. Safe people. I will be back
friends and I hope that new friends will come
meet you all now too.
