Eternity Launch Party
In Ireland with the Intelligence Crew
We arrived in Ireland on Saturday afternoon and
were soon on our journey to the hotel. We
stopped off at Alphabet Clothing on the way and
Gayle San found an appropriate outfit for the
evening that followed, the shop carries an
excellent selection of quality clothes, tapes
and accessories and Hayley and the staff at
Alphabet were very friendly and helpful, so if
you’re local to Derry its highly recommended.
But time was running out fast so we hastily
continued on our journey and were soon at the
hotel.
We were met by Mark EG and Chrissy Whizz, Mark
had been in Ireland a few days already as he had
appeared in The Longfield Inn, Eglington on
Thursday night and again on Friday at the
Intelligence weekly event at The Tudor Rooms in
Sion Mills, we were told that his reception at
both clubs had been overwhelming and this soon
got us in the mood for what was in store.
After our last visit to Ireland we knew this was
going to be a good night, but we never imagined
it could be as good as it turned out to be. The
party took place at Kelly’s in Portrush and was
total success for everyone concerned. Around
2500 people turned up, and with the usual happy
vibe this made a night to remember.
DJ’s on the night gave the crowd just what they
wanted. The night was opened by the resident DJ
Sci, who gave a good introduction for the well
loved Gayle San, her regular appearances at The
Final Frontier in London and The Omen in
Frankfurt have definitely put this DJ on the
map, and she now proves to be a favourite at
this club. Her set was over far too soon, but
the crowd were soon back on a high as PA Serious
danced and rocked with the crowd, this is a PA
you’ve got to see as their act is hard to
describe, energy is the word that springs to
mind, and believe me they had plenty of it.
By now the whole place was bouncing, and still
there was loads more to come. Next was the turn
of Eternity’s very own Mark EG, he was soon
jumping and shouting with enjoyment as he threw
down some excellent underground sounds, the club
followed, everyone eagerly waiting for the next
top tune. T-shirts, baseball caps and free
memberships were thrown out into the crowd, so
if you were a lucky winner, congratulations!
Next up was the PA by Equilibrium, another
excellent performance that got the crowd just
ready for what they all knew was to follow, it
seemed like things could not get any better, but
everyone knew who was next, the club’s No. 1, DJ
XRAY, who finished off with loads of ‘hands in
the air’ anthems and loud bouncing techno, what
an unbelievable end to a perfect night.
We saw absolutely no trouble at all, everyone in
Ireland goes out to party, and party was just
what they did all night.
Many rumours are going around about the owners
of the club, but we experienced little problem,
at the end of the day it’s the party goers that
are our concern, and as everyone enjoyed the
night we were happy. Political and internal
problems are not the problem of the party goers,
and the only complaint I could find to benefit
the crowd is the sound system could have been
better.
We just hoped the weekend would never end, and
we were having such a good time it actually
lasted a day longer than expected. Whilst
enjoying the Irish hospitality we missed our
flight home (you know the score), but who could
complain when we were welcomed into The Tudor
Rooms for a private session on the decks Sunday
night, and ended up dancing until the early
hours.
The end was soon upon us, an exhausting but more
enjoyable weekend, and we eagerly await our
return!
